About the Image(s)

This is a Variegated squirrel feeding on some sort of fruit in a garden area in Costa Rica. Photographed in November 2025.

Photographed with a Sony A7RV and 200-600mm lens at 791mm hand-held. Shot at 1/2000s at f9 and ISO 2000. There was intermittent cloud but morning light was coming from the right side of the frame.

The squirrel was a fair distance up the tree so was cropped fairly heavily. Post-processed in Lightroom Classic - highlights reduced and shadows opened up.
