Three soldiers by Sumit Mukherjee

May 2022 - Three soldiers

About the Image(s)

The image was taken during the post-pandemic.
It was shot one year ago at a garbage disposal site. These three underage workers were working for almost 24 hours to earn their livelihood and were forced to continue with the ever-smiling faces. Few shots were taken secretly as any kind of photography was prohibited there. In India, there were countless underage children or teens being deprived of many common facilities, often leading to untimely death or prolonged illness working in unhygienic, inhuman conditions.
Technical data - f/1.8, 1/115 s, 100 ISO, center-weighted average metering, focal length- 5.58 mm, cropped and photoshopped

I understand and appreciate your concept, but a candid shot could be a better option.   Posted: 05/14/2022 05:06:03

The trash pile behind them is impressive. The description, of child labor. gives it strength.   Posted: 05/19/2022 04:45:58

I don't understand your title of three soldiers and your description. In PJ the image has to tell the story and I don't see one here. Your description tells me more but I don't see that in the image. The image is sharp and clear and weel composed.   Posted: 05/26/2022 16:56:58
