Pagoda of Seigantoji and Nachi no Taki Waterfall (Japan) by Sylvie Tas

October 2024 - Pagoda of Seigantoji and Nachi no Taki Waterfall (Japan)

About the Image(s)

This is an iconic image of the Pagoda of Seigantoji, alongside the Nachi no Taki waterfall.
It was shot with a drone (DJI mini 2) during our Kumano Kodo trek.
This is a network of ancient pilgrimage trails in Japan going through mountains and forests.
The whole trail is just dotted with little shinto shrines. Very mysterious...

Nice image. Amazing not to have anyone in the images. I just feel that the spire should be seen totally. The top is missing. Perhaps a tighter crop. The right hand forrest doesn't add much   Posted: 10/03/2024 01:10:14

Quiet valley; feeling: the buildings are a bit too bright and white, and there is too much forest on the right, which is heavy on the left and light on the right.   Posted: 10/03/2024 13:14:46

Great shot… nice use of drone, doesn't scream this is a drone shot. Agree with Alistair and Zhicai, the right side can be cropped off.   Posted: 10/27/2024 17:07:14

Thank you all for your feedback. My intention was to have the waterfall in the middle, so I will keep it like this for now.
I did make it darker though and it looks much better! Thanks!   Posted: 10/28/2024 17:46:49
