Tuancheng in Hotan City is located in the central area of Hotan, Xinjiang. Originally known as the historic “Pigeon Lane,” the neighborhood features Aiwang-style architecture while preserving its central radiating street layout. It now houses 686 shops encompassing dining, homestays, intangible cultural heritage workshops, and other businesses, creating distinctive consumption experiences such as intangible cultural heritage bazaars and night markets.

The door is interesting architecturally and the bannisters serve well as leading to the subject. I think it is a good travel photo giving a specific sense of place. My only thought is that the center of the door is neither in the center of the photo nor on one of the lines of thirds so it looks a bit uneven to me. Also, because the photo was taken from the right side of the stairway the top of the image twists a little to the right. I adjusted this is PS and centered the image.   Posted: 03/15/2026 00:29:56
