October 2024 - Borobudur volcano

The photo was taken atop Borobudur Temple in Central Java early in the morning.. As I stated when I submitted the photo of the temple in July, we weren’t allowed to take professional cameras up on the temple. This photo was shot with my Iphone15 Pro Max, 48mm, f1.78, 1/3257s, ISO 64. The volcano in the background is Merapi, at 9500ft and one of the most active volcanoes in the world. I wanted to capture some of the detail of the temple and still show some of the surrounding location.

A classic travel photograph that illustrates everything about Indonesia. The distant volcano - and the wisps of clouds just below the summit give so much depth to your composition that is dominated by Borobudur, and the fantastic detail shown in your photograph - a fine effort Michael!
