About the Image(s)

Valparaiso, Chile is noted for their street art, which is common in South America, where it is recognized as a form of art and not graffiti! There are many artists and books available about this art form.

A very interesting image. The pedestrian adds some scale to the image and enhances the concept of street art. some of the image is cut off on the right. Perhaps if you stood back a few feet when you created the image you might have gotten in the complete street painting.   Posted: 05/01/2024 08:39:33

Doc, street art is always an interesting subject to photograph, but I have heard from some judges that you are photographing somebody'd else art. Here the presence of the woman passing by makes the image. My guess is that this illustrated wall is something permanent so you would recognize it is Valparaiso should you go there. By straightening the verticals additional real state was lost. I agree with Alan that perhaps standing a little back you would have included the whole extension of the art.   Posted: 05/05/2024 20:08:03

True, photographing someone else's art raises the question how much is it your own? However, it's in the context of a scene with a person in it, I think it's ok, but the more context there is the less of an issue it becomes.   Posted: 05/06/2024 14:31:43
