About the Image(s)

Walking through the streets of Tokyo you experience the joy of street food. Here you see a man cutting tuna in preparation for sushi. The doll is an image of the restaurant owner who has paid over $1,000,000 for a whole tuna

Street food is a staple for my wife and myself when we visit Asia. Good, wholesome and beats the cost of tourist restaurants. Your image is typical of a street food vendor. Your image is sharp, even to the reflections in the mirror behind the chef, well-centered, has good color and tells the story of a street food vendor. As far as your image is concerned, prior to taking up photography, I used to fish. I've caught tuna, but the price you say this restaurant owner paid is exorbitant and usurious. I used to sell my tuna at the dock, after it was butchered taking only what my wife and I could eat, and I never got anywhere near that amount, even I sold the whole fish and didn't take anything back. Maybe I should have gone to Japan to sell my tuna. On second thought, maybe I should see that restaurant owner and take up fishing again!   Posted: 02/01/2025 05:52:42

Well, sushi-grade tuna (I think it's called maguro) is getting scarce. I like the diagonals going through the image and the vivid red color of the tuna flesh. I suggest cropping it on the right as shown. Even better would have been not to cut into the heads and add additional space on the left.   Posted: 02/02/2025 17:42:02
