iPhone 15 Pro, 6.8mm, 1/8000sec, ISO 80. Post processing: monochrome conversion with NIK Silver Pro 3, some dodging of lower bright wall.
The building was designed by Canadian American Architect Frank Gehry. It was inaugurated in 1997. The unusual shape was only made possible by the fact that in the last thirty years or so architecture has embraced 3D design software originally developed to build airplanes. This makes it possible to design curved surfaces and calculate stresses and loads in non-traditional structures. Apart from that, Gehry’s imagination and the use of titanium as structural as well as exterior cladding material created a building that to me seems like a gigantic sculpture. I chose to convert the original to black&white to emphasize the graphical aspect of the building.

V sharp, unique shaped building, Clouds have added nice b/g too. Clouds have created an illusion of smoke from the chimney. Lovely conversion in b&w, nice gradation of grey scale
I found such huge structure could have been captured from a distance.   Posted: 02/06/2025 03:32:11

I've been thinking ever since Ed posted the images as to what comments I should make concerning this image. I still can't think of a good comment. The image is interesting because the subject is interesting, but I think it would have been better in color.   Posted: 02/06/2025 06:16:43

Tom, good vantage point, and good B&W interpretation of the structure. No distracting reflections on the steel plates. The white spot I understand it is a pigeon, but looks rather large. The details on the titanium elements are very sharp. Great sky. I also like the color version.   Posted: 02/14/2025 16:45:52
