December 2025 - Mugenkyo no Watashi
About the Image(s)
The "Mugenkyo no Watashi" hand-held ferry crosses the Tadami River, the border between Kaneda-Kaneyama-cho and Mishima-cho. Originally revived for tourism, it allowed residents to cross to the other side. The name derives from the fact that the valley, shrouded in river, is fleetingly beautiful, like a dream or illusion on a summer morning or evening. The slow movement of the rowing ferry floating in the river is like a wondrous painting.

This is a stunning image. The light at the time of day(you don't say what time it was) you created this image was perfect. You got what appears to be the sun on the trees in the foreground, with the background trees in shade creating a perfect balance and a diversity of colors. The background is almost such as in a blue hour, but this image clearly wasn't. The ferry in the middle is the a focus of action but I can't help seeing the diversity of colors as a focus in themselves. You are right; you image is like a wondrous painting.   Posted: 12/02/2025 13:55:36
Thanks a lot, Alan. We drove by and caught the stunning moments.   Posted: 12/05/2025 01:08:48
This is a poetic photograph. The autumn foliage is at its peak. The boat adds a serene element to the image. The lit shrub on the left is slightly problematic. It would be great if more of it were in the picture, or maybe it should be cropped out.   Posted: 12/03/2025 12:16:25
Tom, Thanks so much for your suggestion. I did find the shrub was annoying as the lights drew some attention.   Posted: 12/05/2025 01:06:35
