Ed, the two people sitting on the ground add to the image, and don't detract from the entire story. In fact, this image tells a story of two people enjoying a day out and taking in the landscape of the city. I don't think that your image is out of focus and I think your depth-of-field is good. the further houses are just small and not our-of-focus. The image is scaled well and well-centered.
