About the Image(s)
I took this photograph on an evening sailing cruise out of Key West in December 2024. I have never entered it into a PTD exhibition because it does not meet the specificity clause of the PT definition. However, I could now enter it into a PTDW (World in Focus) exhibition.

You're probably right about not entering it in PTD (now PTDD) although a scene on the ocean can be interpreted to an exception to the strict specificity of PTD. Regardless, in PTDW, where anything goes, you won't have such a problem. Personally, I love sunsets and their oranges as well as the sun trail on the water, which in a gentle way serves as leading line. Your image is superbly framed to have the sun under a boom of one ship with the other ship towards the right. Everything is sharp and in focus and your scale is good. You ought to have a winner in PTDW. BTW, it appears that PTDD is on the way out. I have done an informal survey of the exhibitions as of 1/31/26 and have discovered that while there are 49 PTDW exhibitions there are only 11 PTDD. I had e-mailed Carolyn when she first proposed the new star paths and communicated my apprehension about the future of PTD (now PTDD) and it appears I was right. Being very near a star 4 rating in PTD (now PTDD) it looks like that will be a long time in coming if ever.   Posted: 02/03/2026 15:38:57
