About the Image(s)

D¼rnstein (German pronunciation: [ˈdʏʁnˌʃtaÉ̯n]) is a small town on the Danube river in the Krems-Land district, in the Austrian state of Lower Austria. It is one of the most-visited tourist destinations in the Wachau region and also a well-known wine growing area. The municipality consists of the Katastralgemeinden of D¼rnstein, Oberloiben, and Unterloiben.
The town gained its name from the medieval D¼rnstein castle, which overlooked it. The castle's name derived from the Germanduerr/d¼rr, meaning "dry", and Stein, "stone". The stone castle was dry because it was located on a rocky hill, high above the damp conditions of the Danube at the base of the hill. The modern town stands between the castle and the river.

Ed, it's difficult to comment on your original image since it appears you significantly manipulated it in editing. However, what resulted is an image with good depth-of-field, bold colors and sky where the clouds are well-defined. It's a nice landscape image and given landscapes you wanted as much asa fluid of view you could get. First thought might be to crop the imager tomato it a bit tighter, but for landscapes you would want aa wide a field of view as possible,.   Posted: 03/01/2026 19:17:25

Doc, great landscape, sharp, beautiful colors. Just being picky, I cropped it "a la more panorama" style.   Posted: 03/09/2026 09:16:21

Not sure why you call it sharp. It seems entirely out of focus to me.   Posted: 03/12/2026 20:42:42

Nice landscape. its sharp. very nice light. RGB colour combo looks great. Fortunate to get such interesting sky too.
