About the Image(s)

Description: Wuyuan’s “Shai Qiu” (Autumn Sun-Drying) is a unique rural tradition in Jiangxi, China. After the harvest, villagers spread crops such as chili peppers and grains on bamboo trays and rooftops, letting them dry naturally under the sun for preservation. Over time, this practical method has evolved into a vibrant cultural landscape, with colorful displays symbolizing the rhythm of rural life and the harmony between people and nature. Set against the backdrop of traditional Anhui-style architecture, the scene becomes even more captivating at night, when warm lights illuminate the white-walled, black-tiled houses, creating a beautifully atmospheric and picturesque view.
