This is certainly among the most painted and photographed places in the World but it’s relatively rare to see it not thronged with tourists. Rothenburg is a medieval town that the Allies spared from bombing because of its history and architecture. It is located along the Romantic Road in Bavaria and is a wonderful place to visit for a few days in the off season.
