The Qutub Complex is a collection of monuments and buildings using spolia from 27 temples in the Mehrauli area of South Delhi, India.
Construction of this Qutub Mosque or the Great Mosque of Delhi started in 1193 AD. The mosque is in ruins today but indigenous corbelled arches, floral motifs and geometric patterns can be seen among the Islamic architectural structures.

The Original 1 image shows a young man standing in front of one of the columns in the mosque.

Susan, This is a great image with shadows that brought the atmosphere. I like your framed composition to provide an entrance to the collection of monuments. I think this is a little too bright, although the Histogram does not reveal any problem. As I noticed your ISO is 640. Lowering the ISO would help to bring more details to the bricks. I Camera Raw'd with dodging and burning, see if you like.   Posted: 10/05/2022 20:57:23

Pamela, I do like your edit. I think mine is a bit on the bright side, but I didn't how to fix that. Thank you.   Posted: 10/05/2022 21:08:55

Susan, just lowering the brightness would improve as Pamela did   Posted: 10/06/2022 14:28:53

Susan, interesting architectural content image of a recognizable structure. I like as how you aligned the pillars and were able to keep them straight. The image is well composed and it is sharp front to back. The Original image complements the story   Posted: 10/06/2022 14:31:09

The PTD definition clearly indicates lighting and color adjustments globally or selective in our images is allowed as long as the result looks natural and I think that Pamela's adjustments to take down the bright pavement that is in full sun is appropriate. It is also a significant improvement.   Posted: 10/10/2022 11:19:41

The point about the brightness of the image is a good one, and Pamela did a good job here in bringing it down. She writes that she opened Susan's image (jpeg) in Camera Raw (part of Photoshop), which is a powerful tool with sliders that permit adjustments in shadow illumination and highlight intensities. Susan, you write you did not know how to fix that, if this method is not familiar to you, please let us know, we can give you more info depending on what image processor you use. I want to add something about the composition: here you did something quite different than in last month's image, namely you chose not to make the composition symmetric and I think this is a much more successful composition with that receding line of columns on the right and the shadows they throw. The pavement texture is great too, and how the bright light on the pavement illuminates the cupola and brings out the beautiful detail in it. Well done.   Posted: 10/11/2022 16:09:29

Hi Susan -- This looks like a really interesting place to take pictures. I like verticality that emphasizes the "forest" of decorative columns and that complex ceiling. I was about to say maybe a human figure would be interesting but I now see there are people way in the back. A person in the scene would indicate the scale. Great shot!   Posted: 10/12/2022 15:40:38
