Must have been an amazing experience to be there. Just sad that they are a threatened species. I really like the backlighting.   Posted: 01/06/2025 17:19:20

Wow. What a delight to see that many monarchs all at once! Four of the five trees appear to be leaning to the left, you might want to rotate the photo a bit. This photo might do well in a nature competition.   Posted: 01/06/2025 20:18:17

This looks like a fabulous place to be, but a very tough experience to capture. For me there's too much in the picture making it too busy. I've done a drastic crop which might be totally unacceptable to you, but I think it makes those butterflies really stand out. What do you think?

Good idea. I did take lots of photos some do have butterflies in the focus. I had my 200 I wished I had taken my birding lens with me. They don't allow you to get closer to protect their habitat.More than photography this was a wonderful sight see , a lifetime experience in Mexico.   Posted: 01/14/2025 21:16:18

Sometimes the experience is really what it's all about and the camera just can't capture it. I think we get so involved with our photography. We forget to just enjoy the experience. But it sounds like you were able to have a great experience.   Posted: 01/14/2025 22:38:18

You chose a very interesting topic although I am not sure how it relates to the Photo Travel definition. The image probable fits better in the Nature Division. It would be interesting to see what would happen if you used Topaz Gigapixel and zoomed in on the butterflies to see if you could get a sharp image with just about fifty or so of them together. I have read and been fascinated by stories about how they migrate to Mexico.   Posted: 01/23/2025 15:24:56

Wow, that is a fascinating image with a backlight on the butterflies. How about if I crop it as shown? I hope you like it.   Posted: 01/24/2025 01:06:17
