Three Peaks in ZNP by John Larson, FPSA, GMPSA

September 2025 - Three Peaks in ZNP

About the Image(s)

Why I took this image:

This is another of the images that I took while Carolyn and I were at Zion National Park. I particularly liked this image because it reminded me of the “Three Teats” in the Grand Tetons. The only difference here is we have red rock.

Camera Settings:

Creation Date: 03/18/2025
Camera: Canon,
Camera Model: Canon EOS R6,
Shutter Speed: 1/500,
Aperture: f/18,
ISO 800,
Canon 24 “ 105mm F4.0 lens @24 mm.

Post processing:

I did little to this image except for the normal color and lightening adjustments in LR. I then used Topaz Photo AI for sharpening and noise reduction.

Great lighting. The three zones - the distant sky, the rocks and the meadow in front are not only well defined but also have very different colors. the jagged rocks are beautifully illuminated   Posted: 09/15/2025 14:22:01

Nice Image. I like the idea, but for my taste I do think that image has all the elements in it, but needs post processing to make it shine.   Posted: 09/16/2025 09:34:24
