Wow! This is just gorgeous. The composition is perfect with the two writers, slightly separated and of course the setting is just wonderful. The lighting is fine and I love, capturing the first rider's face and expression so well. Fantastic capture!   Posted: 01/12/2026 10:37:10

Nice job of capturing these hunters. This image would appear to also fit the PJ definition. I noticed that you indicated PTDW. Does that means that this is a set-up image? The PJ definition does NOT allow set-ups.   Posted: 01/17/2026 10:03:28

This is a setup or staged photography in Mongolia performed by local people for photographers. It was arranged and coordinated by the guide and some photographers.   Posted: 01/18/2026 02:04:34

This image is full of action and interest! The horses are not overlapping and as Laurie said, you can see the expression on the first rider! Great image!   Posted: 01/17/2026 13:24:54

The image is essentially perfect (no surprise given it's David's) but I would have cropped a little on the right because that balances it better in my eyes. It also shows why setups are so popular. Without a setup, a photographer and the riders would have to have either been there purely by accident or, if during a festival, the photographer would have been extremely lucky not to have crowds in the background. This is why I have opposed setups for a long time. They make it too easy.   Posted: 01/21/2026 13:05:56

Hi Tom, I leave more space on the right to guide the eye and imply motion (leading space). Thank you for your suggestion.

Stage or setup photography is easier in some respects because you can repeat setups. There are pros and cons to that approach.   Posted: 01/31/2026 00:16:52
