January 2026 - Tea Ceremony in Kyoto, Japan
About the Image(s)
Many tourists in Japan are taken to a tea ceremony. The one we went to last October was a classical one, where we and our group dressed up in kimonos and were taught the proper behavior in watching the ceremony and drinking the tea.

Lovely! The scene is interesting, the composition is nice and the lighting is beautiful. I wouldn't change anything.   Posted: 01/12/2026 10:38:06
Very nice. Her costume gives me the indication that this fits the Photo Travel definition. I am trying to understand is there is some kind of smoke or face paint on her face.   Posted: 01/17/2026 10:08:19
Lucky you getting to a tea ceremony! The kimono is gorgeous and is so interesting. I like the other details of the image. They contribute to the story of tea presentation. I was disappointed that I couldn't see her face more clearly.   Posted: 01/17/2026 13:29:14
It is a beautiful image of an elderly lady in Kimono preparing the boiling water for the Tea ceremony. If you enter this image in the Salon competition, I hope the jury will not think that this is a stage image.
