About the Image(s)

The image this month was taken with an iPhone 17 Pro Max. I had no camera as I
flew to Rome for a family medical emergency. I did not want to miss a second month, so I took this shot from my hotel balcony on June 2. June 2nd is Italy’s Republic Day, marking the anniversary of the abolishment of monarchy in 1946.
The highlight of the national holiday is the spectacular aerial display by the “Freccie Tricolori”, the acrobatic demonstration team of the Italian Air Force. As the jets pass they paint the sky with the colors of the Italian flag. By chance my room’s balcony in the hotel I was staying was in their flight path and I took this image. The trees in the foreground are from Villa Borghese Park.

I cropped image a bit and adjusted exposure and used the denoise feature in Lightroom.
