It's a nice image, but what was the reason for whatever was going on? Was it a procession for some holiday or event. You don't say. I don't suppose you could have done anything about the viewer at the lower right, given the nature of festivals and parades an on-lookers. Your settings look somewhat out of what would be expected at f 2.2 ISO 250. It appears you took this image during the day, when one would expect a much narrower diameter for an f-stop.   Posted: 01/07/2026 15:34:09

Sorry for reply late as I just returned from Bangladesh.
Aperture f/2.2 was used to achieve a shallow depth of field. This choice makes the primary subjects (the people carrying the portable shrine) stand out sharply while blurring the background elements, which helps to minimize distractions from the busy crowd and surroundings typically found at such an event.
This is a Japanese traditional Futondaiko procession ritual of Sakai City to be held in Vietnamese city of Hoi An during a cultural exchange festival between the two countries.   Posted: 01/11/2026 19:58:07

For me this image works fine even at f2.2 as the main focus is on the people in the middle of the scene. A bit more room above would have been good.   Posted: 01/10/2026 00:46:31

I don't know if the use of f 2.2 was intentional to control depth-of- field to give the blurring background effect; he doesn't say.   Posted: 01/11/2026 08:29:31

Thank you for your comments.
I cropped all four edges to focus on the subject.
Do you think that to give more room above could make compositon unbalanced?   Posted: 01/11/2026 20:05:59
