Vinaya, great image created under difficult illumination conditions and with no over exposed areas. It is really impressive how this traditional and very antique way of weaving still survives, however on a very small scale, replaced by automatic machines. The room where the man is working is a museum by itself with some many items visible. I am guessing that this was located in some sort of a basement therefore you high vantage point.   Posted: 07/07/2024 12:45:51

I think you were wise to take this shooting down, you framed him in the shot and it shows the weaving process very well. This was an excellent shot to document this process from the past. I like your exposure, the light bulb provided a unique challenge which you handled well.   Posted: 07/17/2024 17:24:46

This documents the traditional customs very well Vinaya. I like your timing with the man looking in a helpful direction and his attire speaks traditional.   Posted: 07/19/2024 02:07:20

Vinaya, in other circumstances, I'd have suggested cropping out the right side of the image as there's so much going on. But the way you captured the scene, it gives us important information about all that's involved in this historic method of sari weaving. Thank you for sharing it w/us.   Posted: 07/22/2024 19:47:05

Good photo. But, contrary to what some others have said, I wonder if the photo would have had more impact if you had taken it from a lower angle so his face would have been more prominent - still framing him with the mom.   Posted: 07/30/2024 19:05:05
