July 2024 - Kota Kinabalu Mosque

About the Image(s)

Taken last September when in the north east part of Borneo on a clear-sky day. It’s an interesting building: built in 1992 and it floats! It houses 9,000 to 12,000.

This is another iPhone picture. And at a hot part of the day. I just had to position myself to get the reflections where I wanted. And not much development needed but I tried to straighten the uprights.

Adrian, I like this image. It rendered well the idea of the place and the reflections add interest. I think you have been only partially successful in straightening the image. The tower on the right is leaning to the right and the corner of the building on the left appear leaning to the left.

Best

They do. I'll see if I can improve that within Lightroom.   Posted: 07/19/2024 01:59:40

I enjoyed the image of the building, the reflection, the trees on the left with no hills or distractions behind them, just sky. Certainly a unique location. Like so many reflections, a major line across the center of the image. Some object, but I think it is appropriate in an image like this. The alternative is either more sky or more water than you need. Well done. Yes there is some distortion of the tower on the right.   Posted: 07/19/2024 11:03:20

Thank you Stan. I will see if I'm clever enough to straighten the right tower, without making the rest worse!   Posted: 07/19/2024 11:29:36

Adrian, very nice reflection image. I agree with Stan that reflection photos such as this one are just fine (and even preferable) if the horizon line is in the middle of the picture. And yes, I hope you are able to straighten the tower...   Posted: 07/30/2024 19:11:47
