About the Image(s)

The Duomo (Cathedral) di Cremona, Italy is an example of Romanesque architecture and was started in 1107 a.C. The church was submitted to several extensions and remodeling up to XIV century (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cremona_Cathedral). The adjacent bell tower is called "The Torrazzo", is tall 112.54m and his the third tallest brickwork bell tower in the world. Construction began in 1230 a.C. and was terminated in 1308 a.C. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torrazzo_of_Cremona).
This series of images was taken few years ago. I have been in Cremona for work almost every year in the past 30 years, and for one reason or the other never took pictures of this places (maybe because it is like a familiar place to me).
Images were taken early in the morning (the only time when the square is not crowded).
All images taken with Nikon Z-7ii and Nikkor Z 14-30 f/4 lens. All images taken on a tripod. They images had been corrected for distorsion and had basic adjustments.

Michele, any place in Italy is worth visiting and photograph, early in the morning, and you will never go wrong. Great composition and great complementary images. Very sharp. Other ancient names referred to Italy include Enotria (land of the wine), Esperia (land on the west), Ausonia (from the Italic population called Ausoni), and Saturnia, and of course; Italia !!   Posted: 05/01/2025 14:00:00
