About the Image(s)

This picture was taken in Oaxaca Mexico. I found the costumes to be interesting and they obligingly posed for a picture.

Great costumes and setting against the well lit stone wall. The missing faces might be an issue, but I am sure the full story of the costumees can only be appreciated from the back which explains why you took the shot that way. The dog is an important part of the story and provides one great face.   Posted: 07/04/2025 17:46:09

good travel image, image is sharp & colourful. I am seeing such costumes first time. I wonder, if they didnt have an objection to take photos, then why only back side?????   Posted: 07/06/2025 09:54:12

Stan and Vinaya, the subjects are facing the camera (look at the direction of the shoes). Most likely the outfits are blocking the faces for a reason. Would be interesting to know the name of the festival.   Posted: 07/09/2025 11:32:49

Thanks for the comments everyone. The performers are indeed facing forward and their masks are covering the faces.

They seem to have been hired to form a procession for a wedding that was happening. There were many other costumed participants.   Posted: 07/09/2025 12:54:59
