North Rim by Les Lincke, PPSA

June 2022 - North Rim

About the Image(s)

North Rim was obviously taken at the Grand Canyon late in the afternoon. In some respects it resembles parts of Bryce Canyon. While it is a simple photo anyone could have taken, it does show the many colors on display in the canyon.
Nilon 810 with 24-85 mm lens at 70 mm., 750 sec. at f22 at ISO 1600.

Les, the Grand Canyon is a timeless and grandiose place. I am a little puzzled as why you used a 750 sec exposure. The colors are very green (after the raining season ?). Good detail all over the image (f/22)   Posted: 06/11/2022 16:44:12

The colors are beautiful. So rich and warm. Wish there were a little more of the pine bough showing though.   Posted: 06/12/2022 23:23:59

The light is great, with wonderful color and soft shaddows. Clearly to someone from Arizona, this is the Grand Canyon, but it does remind me of shots of Bryce. The rocks are very different however. Well done.   Posted: 06/20/2022 10:30:31

Les, The sharp focus throughout and the many textures are very well done. However - and I seem to be an outlier here - to me the colors are a bit too muted and could benefit from some more saturation. But clearly that is just me...   Posted: 06/27/2022 10:57:48
