Sacred Heart Cathedral in Casablanca by Nancy Axelrod

October 2022 - Sacred Heart Cathedral in Casablanca

About the Image(s)

This lovely white cathedral in Casablanca, Morocco, which country I just visited, has, frustratingly, been under renovation for some time, and visitors are prevented from entering the building by a large, imposing metal fence. On this very sunny afternoon, I opted to emphasize the frustration of not being able to enter the building.

Sony a6400 camera with 18-105mm lens at 18mm (27mm equivalent), 1/2000”, f/5.0, ISO 125. Slight adjustments in Lightroom to lighten the building and to darken the sky.

Nancy - I can understand your frustration!

If that was part of the metal fence, it is designed in an unusual manner.   Posted: 10/10/2022 11:31:16

Nancy, very clever idea to frame the Church within the metal fence and keeping the lines straight. Interesting that both are pretty much in focus with the f/5.0 used. Did you do focus stacking ?, and yes, the fence is emphasized more than the building expressing your frustration.   Posted: 10/11/2022 09:20:32

Nope, no focus stacking. I guess the wide angle worked well in my favor giving a wide depth of field.   Posted: 10/24/2022 21:17:05

You are certainly making your point with that picture.   Posted: 10/24/2022 08:41:28
