About the Image(s)

The cathedral in Seville, Spain, is the largest gothic cathedral in the world, and the third largest church after St. Peter’s in Rome and St. Paul in London. The single bell tower, called Giralda, is actually a minaret of a mosque that the Arab citizens of Seville built in 1182. When the cathedral was constructed in the 16th century, the rest of the mosque was destroyed.

Tom, you seem to be taking more pictures with your phone than with what I like to call "real" <G> cameras. Regardless, I like the image. Your settings indicate an ISO or 320, which, given the time of day, makes me believe this is a low light image. My limited understanding of low light photography usually called for longer exposures, which doesn't seem to be the case here. Regardless, the image is sharp and the focus is on the streetlamp, but I'm bothered by the slant of the bell tower. That may have been due to the angle you used in creating the image. I'm not quite sure what the focal point of your image is. Is it the streetlight. or the bell tower. It's somewhat confusing. Still and all, I like the image.   Posted: 07/01/2025 14:53:34

Alan, I liked the contrast and juxtaposition of the differences in color, texture and design of the two objects. The angle is dictated by the perspective. I guess I could have tilted the light fixture more and the tower less, but symmetry isn't always good.   Posted: 07/01/2025 15:15:56
