About the Image(s)

Gullfoss Waterfall - Iceland
On my first visit to Iceland, we took a tour labeled the Golden Circle from Reykjavik and one of the stops was this waterfall which is the most iconic. There are many waterfalls in Iceland, but this is the only one with two drops appreciated in the image.
The image was created with a Nikon D4s with the Nikkor zoom lens 28-300 mm f/3.5-5.6 @ 40 mm and these settings: ISO 200, f/10 and 4.0 seconds exposure. The camera on a tripod and a Neutral Density filter on the lens to obtain the silky effect. It was a sunny day, so we were gifted with the addition of a rainbow.
The image was PP in LightRoom and cropped.

Kudos for capturing the rainbow. I visited the same spot when I was in Iceland, however, the weather was inclement, and I didn't get the images that you got. the use of the ND filter gives the silky effect, which adds to the image. Did you need the 4 sec to get t he rainbow?   Posted: 07/01/2025 14:58:11
