About the Image(s)

In Vietnamese culture, burning incense sticks is considered a bridge between the present life and the spiritual world.
In our trip to North Vietnam, we visited many local villages. We found this place with an informal manufacturing of incense. This man (main image) and woman (original) with a home-made tool were cutting the sticks from a large bamboo trunk section. It is amazing how precise they were in cutting them to almost the same thickness. All in the family were involved in the activity. The original 2 shows the sticks drying under the sun before the incense is attached to it.
All the images were created with the Nikon Z9 with the Z zoom lens 24-200 mm f/4-6.3 and ISO 1600, f/8 and 1/100 sec. The images were PP in LightRoom and cropped.

I like images showing people engaging in crafts. Your image is well-centered, colors are crisp, and you also captured a sense of the physical surroundings. Good shot.   Posted: 09/02/2025 20:12:34

I agree with Alan. I would crop a little from the top to center the person in the frame.   Posted: 09/06/2025 16:44:53
