Into the Mist by Dr. Isaac Vaisman, APSA, PPSA

January 2026 - Into the Mist

About the Image(s)

Created at Niagara Falls, Canada side on a very cloudy day, aggravated by the intense mist created by the falling waters. This are rides people take from both sides US or Canada to go into the mist and of course to get wet. The red color are the rain covers people get for the ride. In the US side the rain covers are blue.
Used a Nikon D750 with the 28-300 mm f/3.5-5.6 zoom lens @ 38 mm and these settings: ISO 200, f/10 and 1/400 sec. The image was PP in LightRoom and I tried to retrieve some of the color but I was not very successful.

Isaac, considering the mist I don't know if the falls could have been any clearer if you had tried to stop the action using a shorter shutter speed, but image itself is impressive. I do think the colors are somewhat unnatural, maybe due to your post-processing attempt.   Posted: 01/07/2026 15:23:35

I like the red raincoat but I do agree with Alanz   Posted: 01/09/2026 06:46:03
