Good RGB PT image, Alan. An image is sharp, light is mild, reflection has added depth to the frame. Yellow-Red premises at green b/g looks nice. Good composition. Being sun behind you, nice blue sky could be captured.

Overall good PT image!   Posted: 08/06/2026 08:04:47

Thanks, Vinaya. For some reason, I never entered this in any competition. I think I just overlooked it until recently. Regardless, I think I'm finished with competitions. I need a few more acceptances to get a star 4 rating in both Nature and PTDD and after I get those acceptances, I'll apply for a PPSA rating. I'm soured on the competitions as there is far too much variation and lack of standardization in judging. Carolyn has said in the recent Photo Traveler that PTD is exploring an alternative to the star rating system, but didn't give any details. Given my feelings, I think that would be welcome.   Posted: 08/06/2026 08:18:55

Already there are two, PTTD & PTDW   Posted: 08/06/2026 09:45:49

Yes, there are two, but they are distinct and cannot be combined. This new system, currently undergoing testing, as per Carolyn, would be al alternative to the star rating system. We'll have to wait for more particulars. IMV, the reason for this potential action is because there are many fewer PTDD exhibitions as compared to PTDW and that poses a difficulty for people who have several star ratings in the PTDD system to continue on that path, as the opportunities appear to be somewhat limited.   Posted: 08/06/2026 10:05:39

Alan, Nice Golden Pagoda in Kyoto. Beautiful gardens, nice reflection. All this non sense of PTDD and PTDW is thanks to the European FIAP which affiliated club members stoped hosting real PTD salons because of the restrictions. It had to come to a compromise..... so PTD purist would have salons to participate which were disappearing.   Posted: 08/06/2026 20:41:36
