Kingfishers diving or in this case rising from a dive (I think) are very challenging images to get! That said, they are becoming increasingly common and so harder to get accepted in competitions.

In this case, it's a little hard to tell what's going on. We can't see the bird's face clearly, though the splash tells a story. It appears that he missed his target, so there is no fish in his bill. ANd he's pretty small in the frame, surrounded by bright green water, so our eye is not immediately drawn to the bird.

That said, keep up the effort and it will pay off in future images.
