February 2026 - Heron Shakes
About the Image(s)
This photo was taken in the Low Country of South Carolina near Beaufort. We were out early in the morning and I tried to get as low as possible to capture this image. My OM1 Mark2 with the 150-400 Pro was set at 400 mm, 1/3200 sec, f4.5 and iso 1600. The heron was shaking its head and a stream of water droplets sprayed off its beak. The processing was done in Lightroom Classic to bring more attention to the bird and droplets.
Regards,
Richard

What a greatmoment and photo. Only suggestion would be to crop in a bit more.   Posted: 02/17/2026 16:51:59

I agree about cropping in. I couldn't really see the water drops until I zoomed in. Did you try enhancing the water drops?   Posted: 02/19/2026 16:06:16
Excellent Photo. Great Shot. Very Sharp. Colors are good too. I will agree with others that you might want to crop more to show the water droplets as it seems that they are important part of the story.   Posted: 02/19/2026 20:05:09
