Nice vertical composition and interesting birds. I would probably crop a tiny bit from left and bottom. I find the lightness of the trunk distracting from the birds and would probably darken it. Maybe reduce highlights on the birds and see if that's better.   Posted: 04/13/2026 00:48:34

I love watching hornbills, and I really appreciate your photos of these interesting birds.
In this case, the steep upward angle works against you, along with having that large trunk blocking our view of the birds. The fact that everything is a similar tone also reduces the impact of the image. There are "allowed" ways to burn the tree and brighten the birds, but the result is still basically a portrait at a difficult angle.
