I'm an active "mid-level" photographer, interested primarily in outdoors photography - landscapes, wildlife, flora and some sports. Many years ago I pursued photography as a career but eventually left the business to work in corporate finance. I came back as a hobbyist about 20 years ago and since I retired it has become my primary "go to"activity. I work both digitally (Nikon D750) and medium format film (Hasselblad 500C) using Photoshop and Topaz tools. I'm active in the local camera club and I enjoy seeing other photographer's work and showing mine in an atmosphere of constructive criticism.

I consider myself an intermediate level photographer. If it moves or if it doesn't I shoot it. I especially like to photograph birds and wildlife as well as cityscapes and landscapes. I am currently using Nikon Z9 and D500 cameras. I have an assortment of lenses from 15mm fisheye to a 150 to 600 telephoto.
I am active in several local camera clubs as well as teaching a photography course at Northwestern Universities adult continuing education class.
I primarily use Lightroom and Photoshop for editing and play with Nik, DXO, Topaz and Luminar software.

Most of my photography career was centered on fashion and portrait photography. In retirement, I have developed an interest in nature photography, particularly wildlife. I live in the Pacific Northwest so I have fairly good access to nature photography opportunities. I am not very competition oriented but I certainly appreciate critique and feedback. The rules for the Nature Division are more in tune with my approach to wildlife than some camera clubs I have been a member of. Reality seemed to take a back seat too often. I am sure that I have much to learn about what is allowed in post processing but I expect I can meet the criteria for many of my photos.

Photography is connection. With myself, with others, with nature and the infinite possibilities of the human experience. Photographing animals in their habitat shows life as it is. It combines my passion for adventures, nature and behavior. I look for movement and portraits of animals, as if they were in a natural studio. Through photography, I shape my artist soul, curiosity and the search for knowledge and my adventurous spirit.

I'm 53 and live in Southern California, married to a retired trucker so he drives and I take pictures along the way. I was medically retired from the US Army in 2009. My interest in photography has blossomed since it is an excuse for something to keep me active on our trips to escape the heat in the summer. On our trips I also write a blog about how even if a person has something holding them back they can still travel and enjoy nature. I have been dealing with multiple sclerosis for over 10 years. I use a canon 80D and have mostly focused on nature photography this past year my husband has helped stretch my horizons with framing and composing landscapes. I am looking forward to sharing and learning from the group.

I am a travel and landscape photographer from Scottsdale, Arizona who captures the innate beauty of a country through portraiture, architecture, and its landscapes. I am drawn to areas that have been unaffected by modernization, focusing on its natural beauty and its people. I have always loved traveling but have severely caught the travel bug with visits all around the world including Antarctica, Kenya, Uganda, Costa Rica, Japan, Madagascar, Venice (& Dolomites) and India - all in the past two years. I am also an avid travel blogger writing about unique aspects of a culture while adding a dash of humor.
