Taken at the Masai Mara in October, this lion seems to be looking at something above him. Shot with my Nikon Z9 and 600 MM lens at 1/2000 sec, f/6.3 and ISO 6400. Processed lightly with Lightroom and DxO Pure Raw.

I like the expression on the lion's face. I would crop a little from the bottom. I think it would enhance the lion looking up with more room above than below. I would also slightly increase the brilliance, brightness, contrast, and decrease the shadows. Posted: 02/19/2026 16:13:59
