About the Image(s)

This image of a blue heron in flight was taken at the Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge in upstate NY. I was actually trying to grab an image of something else when I noticed the heron flying towards me out of the corner of my eye. I did not have the camera set to continuous so I was very fortunate to get a sharp image in a single frame as this critter was gone in a flash. The background was a flat grey sky which I tried to bring up a bit in Photoshop to give the image some depth, along with a bit of contrast and to accentuate the plumage.
