This is a lovely scene, I see what attracted you to it. While most of the time we want a low angle with wildlife, in this case the downward angle separates the two birds and allows both to be in focus.
Your exposure is perfect for the scene, and it looks like you brought up the shadow detail just the right amount.
For competition purposes, the stray branches in the FG will count against you.

Welcome Janina,
Nice peaceful image. You might try cropping a couple of inches off the top and bottom to make more of a pano to keep the eye more on the important parts of the image. Posted: 04/19/2026 14:28:12
