The photo was taken at Lily Pond Park, a small, secluded nature spot near Lake Ronkonkoma, NY.
I was able to see the Group 4 photos for April and to post a bio, but is there a way to post my own bio photo? I see that others have theirs posted on top of their bio text.

This is a sweet scene. I feel like the image within the frame is actually a horizontal. The harsh mid day light works against you, along with the contrast between the white adults and the very dark shadows. In the original, you still probably have some detail in the whites, which appear blown at low resolution.
Using just the jpeg, I cropped it and adjusted shadows and highlights. Starting with your original, I believe you can pull up a lot more detail in both.

Lots of action in this scene Janina. I agree with Lillians comments. I think the horizontal crop helps keep the eye on what's important and removes a lot of the unneeded detail in the background. Posted: 06/15/2026 16:20:35
