January 2026 - Kingfisher Emerging After the Dive

The image was taken in Florida in a small pond. I went to the pond with a local photographer before sunrise when kingfisher feeds there. We sat in a hide set up right by Kingfisher’s favorite perch and panned the camera as the bird dove in. I had the use a shorter focal length and include area around the kingfisher, just to keep the bird in the frame. It also tested my camera’s pre-shoot feature!
