There is a lot of motion blur, and the tops of the hockey sticks are missing, but I just had to enter this image for the Notebook. It is my first ever photo of a hockey goal taken with a cellphone.
This game was in Round 1 of the 2025 PWHL(Professional Women's Hockey League) playoffs. The Frost, the Minnesota team, were playing Toronto, Canada.
The Frost won the round of five, then played the Ottawa, Canada, Charge, for the Championship, and won in four games. The Frost now have the Walter Cup, the trophy given to the winner, for the 1st two years of the league's existence.
Also, for the 25/26 season, both Toronto and Seattle have joined the league, giving them now 8 teams.

Hi Karen. Yes this is a congested photo with many players involved in the critical moment, the goal. That is what team sports are all about all necessary players congregating around the scoring area to stop or make a goal. You have a clear shot of the goalie (which you may have reduced the shadow details on her face) and the goals both posts . A group of celebrating spectators behind the goal area. All round a fine photo capturing intense action under very challenging conditions. Posted: 06/22/2025 19:19:54
