About the Image(s)

I was asked by my nephew to take photos of his son playing his first cricket season, the competition is for the youngest Under 9's. The photograph was not just submitted to show young boys playing cricket but also the countless number of adult volunteers who give their time making competitions like this available. The large male was a fine sportsperson in his younger days but just devotes himself to kids cricket. In my growing life as a young boy I met many men like this I only wished I should have thanked them for the continuing encouragement they gave me through my life. Unfortunately most are now dead, at the time I took them for granted, “isn't this what people do?” If had not been for the confidence they showed in my as a boy/young man I would not even be able to make this post.

The action shows larger man (Goliath), acting as both coach/umpire and the young boys (Davids) congratulating the boy facing as he has got a batsman out (not in photo).
