About the Image(s)

This photo cracked me up. The pair were at a market in N. Thailand.

I like your choice of subject, but the closed eyes of the lady who appears to be walking raises an issue. Had her eyes been open, the image would have much more to enjoy. I generally do not make single shot even when I make photo of a single person or a group or any moving subject. My preference to make images with a burst mode has always helped me in choosing the best of the lot. This ensures selection of an image where eyes of all are open.
Secondly, with such a subject, I would have preferred to include the surroundings as that helps in better understanding of the situation in which the subject is moving. Your image has high emotional impact thus I need to see the surroundings in this PJ image. I think this tight crop was ok for a pictorial image, but eyes need to be open with such a posture.
No problem with the closed eyes of the baby and even if one eye is visible.   Posted: 01/06/2025 01:11:25

If her eyes had been open I would never have submitted it. It would be a boring shot. I just liked the caught moment in time.   Posted: 01/06/2025 11:42:23

I don't quite see the story in this image. The sleeping baby is sweet, but it's very difficult to feel that the woman's closed eyes are anything more than just a result of the particular moment when she blinked. For me, the photo would be stronger if I could see more of her clothing and something of the setting.   Posted: 01/06/2025 10:00:14

It was a humorous moment for me. That's why it's a close up. Thus the title "trouble ahead".
If her eyes were open and more of the street was included it would be boring in my opinion.   Posted: 01/06/2025 11:47:55
