This little boy could hardly wait for the train to pull into the station and it made me smile! This tourist steam train winds up through the mountains from Durango, Colorado, to Silverton, gives time for passengers to eat and browse the shops in Silverton, and then returns to Durango and is very popular with families.

The old-time train station is a good locale and the child waiting with anticipation makes a good story with no explanation needed. The foreboding sky makes a good atmosphere. Nicely done. Posted: 09/12/2025 10:14:35
