March 2026 - Morning Life in Chandigarh

About the Image(s)

This image was made at the local man made lake, known as Sukhna Lake, where hundreds of residents of this city go for morning walk or do exercise including yoga and jogging. In addition, a large number of tourists who visit this one of the modern cities of India designed by Le Corbusier, make a point to spend some time at this lake. I visit this lake almost daily for morning walk along this parapet made of stones over which two young men are doing some exercise. On that fine morning the sun peeped out with golden hues and I took no time to record this moment with my cell phone.

Tech Spec: Shot with cell phone (camera) One Plus Nord, ISO 100, Shutter Speed 1/776, Aperture f/1.8

I down loaded the image and cropped a bit from top.

I like the morning light and the depth of the image with the exercisers in the foreground and the stretch of people along the curving walk. For me, this is the kind of photo where phone cameras frequently fail, as I think the over-sharpened sky is an artefact of the phone's processing. With my "regular" camera most of the time if I use the Topaz or Luminar Neo sharpen tool, I only use it on a layer, and then I erase the sharpen effect on the sky and many times on water waves because it makes the lines too distinct in an unnatural way.   Posted: 03/11/2026 09:41:58
