So far this year, we have had two snow and ice storms in Delaware, the likes of which we haven't seen in 10-20 years. The first storm left us continually below freezing for 3 weeks. This image was captured with a wide-angle lens with great depth of field to show the icicles hanging on porch woodwork while my partner was shoveling icy snow after the second storm. At this point, it's hard to think that spring is coming.

It has definitely been a peculiar winter in the Northeast. Although not so much here in central PA. We missed most of the big storms. The last few days have been unseasonably warm. But more winter is coming. I really like the framing of the icicles and the purple jacket of the shoveler really draws your eye to the challenge being faced. Nice capture. Posted: 03/11/2026 15:28:38
