About the Image(s)

I love capturing battles, contests, situations where the participants are giving all they have and showing intense expressions and great athleticism or effort with their bodies. In this wrestling match, I waited through the parts where they were both circling around each other and waiting for someone to make a move. When one did start making a strong move, I started firing away on burst mode, and of this set of shots I liked this the best because it showed the emotions on both faces, as well as the upper wrestler experiencing the strength and skills of the other wrestler. I did some editing in Camera Raw and Photoshop per PSA PJ guidelines.

I handheld a Canon EOS 60D with a 100-400mm lens at 100mm, ISO 2000, 1/125sec, f4.5.

The expressions on the wrestlers' faces plus the rib cage showing make this photo. I think black and white was a good choice as well. Where was this taken?   Posted: 03/11/2026 15:21:14
