Boring Book by Dr Isaac Vaisman, APSA, PPSA

May 2025 - Boring Book

About the Image(s)

Boring Book was created while being on a cruise ship and walking on the deck around and near the swimming pool, I found this gentleman sound asleep (he was snoring) so I just obtained one image shown here.

Used a Nikon D850 with the Nikkor zoom lens 70-200 mm f/2.8 @ 140 mm and these settings: ISO 320, f/8 and 1/100 sec. The image was PP in LightRoom and cropped to eliminate the handrail just above his head

Your caught him at a snoring point, his eyes closed, and face looking up. Good idea to eliminate the rest of the hand rail. Karen Kohn   Posted: 05/05/2025 00:38:39

The image makes me laugh and nostalgic missing the sounds of the gentle lapping of water on the hull, the feel of the ocean breeze, and the smell of the sea/ocean.

I found myself drawn to the title of the book since part of it is red, and the print draws my attention. The proverb beware of Greeks bearing gifts cautions people to avoid being overly trusting when people suddenly change their behavior.

The color temperature seems toward the blue. Attached is a suggested correction. (corrected in LR placing the temperature thermometer on the white area (neutral) above the man's head.

This is an amusing capture, and I expect many of us recognize this pose! To be honest, I don't see much difference in the color temperature of Judith's version. The opened book lying face down on his stomach is what adds interest and tells a story of a book that he could put down!   Posted: 05/10/2025 15:51:38
