About the Image(s)

Nikon z6ii, 24-120 mm lens, June 24, 2025

Port Stanley, on Lake Erie. is crowded on summer weekends, and less populated on weekdays.

Grandpa Teaching (1/320 sec,, f 8.0, ISO 100, 120 mm) was captured from a distance, without asking permission, and trying to be not noticed, thus at a higher perspective. It shows a grandfather teaching his granddaughter how to dig sand to fill her truck. I talked to the man and then asked permission to take a photograph. I was able to move closer, assume a better position, and waited for the child to resume play (Grandpa Watching). 1/640 sec,, f 6.3 45 mm, ISO 100.

Both images show human interaction These images are "street photography" showing a moment in an ordinary event.

These two images demonstrate Ardeth's comment/advice in June about deciding on intent and then "working the scene" .
